                                    Russia in VOGUE

Russian influence on the history of art and fashion is huge. This country is so inspirational ! Galliano,Lagerfeld,Chanel,Dior and other known designers created a lot of collections which remind us of Russia. But why?

I decided to visit a great exhibition by Vogue Russia. This year our Vogue celebrates its birthday - 15 long years. Victoria Davydova, the main Vogue editor, created this exhibition for us. She proved me and other fashionistas that Russia was such an inspiration! 

When creative people think of Russia to find some inspiration,they find it in our ballet, 60's...but why 60's? Gagarin! Also,Russia is all about Karenina and fur,elegance and expensive things,luxury life.

Famous actresses,talented painters, all of them were getting inspiration from Russia every century,every decade,every single year.

Vogue's team decided to find the brightest moments from XX and XXI centuries and show the photographs to us.

 I visited that special museum with my close friend and a cool fashionista - Kristy! We were laughing a lot because of our third friend, who was so funny we could not breathe.
As soon as we arrived,we became really serious and I was so speechless because every photograph was so powerful and bright, I felt love,life,laugh. They were not only about fashion,they were about people,who can smile,laugh,live a good life. We fell in love with most of the works. Testino,Vivanco and other great photographers made us fall for every single photo.
Models on photos were different - from balley stars as Rubinstein and models such as Kate Moss or Natalia Vodianova.
Russia has never been ,out of fashion,. My country has always been a subject of discussions.
Most of famous Russian relatives of dukes and kings and other respectable memebers of our government were women,and they were inspiring hundreds of painters,designers and photographers for years.

Beauty of Russian women makes everyone speechless. Karl Lagerfeld,Ralph Lauren and other talented people have always been in love with Russia.
Victoria and VOGUE's team proved everything. Russia is a power. Our country's beauty means a lot. Our women inspire everyone. We create our own fashion and never copy someone in anything. Our history is full of life and smiles. No matter how hard the life is,Russia stays in Vogue.
Because Vogue means ,fashion, at first.
After the exhibition I got really inspired. I bought ,Russia in VOGUE, special issue. It's full of photos and information about fashion world connecting to Russia.
I was only 2 when the first Vogue issue came out. Now I am 17 and its the 15th anniversary of VOGUE Russia! Cannot wait to start working with this magazine! It's a part of my soul.

3.12.13 - Открытие легендарной выставки ,Russia in VOGUE, в МАМ на Остоженке. Многие походы на модные мероприятия в Москве уже сложно представить без Кристи! На пару мы отправились гулять по выставочным залам.
Я влюбилась практически во все фотографии выставки - каждая из них пропитана искренними улыбками и эмоциями.
На выставке даже можно найти снимки 18-х годов прошлого века. Не верится, что уже тогда чувствовалась динамика в модной индустрии.
Россия никогда не была далека от моды, а задавала тон всей Европе. Многие дизайнеры,художники,фотографы вдохновлялись образами именно русских женщин!
В первые десятилетия 20го века это были родственницы известных русских князей, путешествовавшие по миру и становившиеся моделями. Вскоре, многие дизайнеры начали создавать коллекции,посвященные России в целом. От Бенуа и  Дягилева, до Водяновой и Юдашкина. Все смешалось воедино и образовало потрясающую выставку.
В 60-х годах Гагарин стал вдохновением тысяч людей. Коллекции Кардена,Куррежая,Рабана и др. были созданы благодаря полету в космос!
Когда иностранцы говорят о России, одна из первых мыслей,посещающих их головы - балет. Именно так и мыслят дизайнеры,многие из них вдохновлялись нашим балетом. Прошедшая пару лет назад выставка ,Dance in VOGUE, стала тому доказательством.
Среди работ ,Russia in VOGUE, больше всего нам понравились фотографии от Тестино,Виванко..
Яркие фотосессии Водяновой и живая улыбка Мосс на улицах Москвы заставляли почувствовать,насколько сильна взаимосвязь России и моды.
Многие работы можно приобрести,купив специальный выпуск ,Russia in VOGUE, (на обложке Саша Лусс). Я уже ознакомилась с содержанием этого журнала,мне понравилось все,сказанное Викторией. Действительно, Россия никогда не отставала от моды,а даже вела ее в нужном направлении.
Ральф Лорен обожает Россию! Большинство дизайнеров имеют особое отношение к нашей стране, а оно пропитано доверием и любовью.


Выражаю огромную благодарность Виктории Давыдовой и всей команде VOGUE Russia за столь интересную выставку, которая показывает всю силу России и ее влияние на мир искусства и моды.
Еще не могу не высказать свою любовь издательству Conde Nast,делающему огромный вклад в развитие Vogue.
