This is so Vogue!
Last week in Moscow before the REAL vacation. I had so many things to do about my university. It was my first summer in Moscow mostly! But I visited so many beautiful places !
I bought my August Vogue issue last week and it impressed me..new interesting articles and photoshoots! I mentioned that Moscow was opening a new exhibition of world famous fashion magazines of last few centuries! How exciting! I decided I needed to visit that exhibition as fast as I could ! Last few days were really boring in Moscow..all my friends were abroad. Finally, one of my really close friend (Oh,she's such a pretty model!) came back and we finally met! She turned 20 so I decided to present her one of Gucci fragrances with a flower taste. We saw so many beautiful covers and pictures during the exhibition!
We arrived at 5pm. so it was time to hurry up because exhibition was closing at 6pm! I fell in love with so many covers I could not breathe! Every cover was bringing me back to 20's and 30's and 10's of previous century! I guess you know, I am absolutely in love with 20's since Gatsby. I am obsessed. I wish I looked like one of those gorgeous women from 20's with their perfect wavy hair,bright make up and fresh cherry lips. The way people were dressing in 20's is so perfect I can't even say anything. They were charming,tall,sparkly. A woman was a secret, a rose which opens for only someone special and tastes like notes of the most expensive parfume.
I saw a lot of covers from Vogue,Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar & other world famous magazines. All those magazines were fighting for a throne. There were many different ways to steal hearts of American or Europian readers. No one was thinking of Couture fashion,but the main thing was quality of clothes. Only in 10's women started caring about fashion trends as one of the most important things. All previous centuries were keeping fashion trends not as the most important thing because of many different rules and rights.
I fell in love with covers as I had told you before.
Is not it great to paint a cover instead of taking a photo? I woner why do not our society want to come back to drawing some covers? It would be great if Anna created a year of ,Vogue in colors, and there would be no photos on covers,only great drawings as in previous century!
Some artists really influenced on fashion world of previous decades by their works! They created different styles for each magazine and it was really beautiful. We could see a Vogue cover picture and Vanity Fair's and understand in a second what is what because of their traditional style.
My favorite magazine has always been Vogue,oh you know me! So obsessed with its special issues! Chrismas issue,Halloween..St.Valentine's...so beautiful and unique!
My outfit was inspired by 80's (oh those crazy times I did not expierence!). Denim vintage tank top with jeans bridges and beautiful H&M necklace ,BANG,. I was thinking of ,Cry-Baby, with Johnny Depp. My style was inspired by all those beautiful women from there. The exception was in one thing only - my hair was not wavy as all 80's women used to have !
Fashion world is really deep. You have no idea how deep is it until you start studying its history. Magazines are an entry to this world. Cover is one of the most important things in a magazine. It shows the hottest trends and last breathe of fashion like it is something what never dies but always appear in different shapes and forms.
